Porsche 356 Speedster 1957

History

This car had been imported to New Zealand a number of years ago and was in regular use up to the time of restoration.

Restoration:

A few ominous bubbles were starting to appear in the paint so the owner decided it was time to rectify these. Neither he nor ourselves could imagine what was revealed by the media blast. It just goes to show what skillful use of copious amounts of bog/filler can achieve.

As such this ranks as one of the more extensive restorations we have undertaken.

Our Auto Robot 3D chassis alignment machine enabled all parts to be assembled within +/- 1mm and was crucial for this project!

All panels have been faithfully reproduced or modified to exactly match the originals and all spot-welds will be replicated during the restoration. Upon completion it will be extremely challenging to determine if or where any repairs have taken place.
